Born on September 19, 1946 at Bhondre, Taluka Parner, district Ahmednagar in the farmers family.
-Both his parents were primary teachers hence received academic ambience in the family. His father remained the leader of teacher’s organization in Nagar Taluka so he received elementary lessons in politics through him.
-He completed BSc physics from Ahmednagar College, Ahmednagar and LLB through New Law College, Ahmednagar.
-Due to the heredity potential for movements and leadership he worked in the Communist Party sponsored organizations like Youth Federation and Progressive Youth Organization during which established contacts with the contemporary leaders like advocate Suresh Gawali, Comrade Prabhakar Bhapkar, Comrade Eknathrao Bhapkar,Comrade Chandrabhan Athare Patil, became popular in Ahmednagar district as a student leader.
– 1984 received primary membership of Ahmednagar Jilha Maratha Vidya prasarak Samaj
– 1976 Took initiative in establishing a college in a rural and affected place like Parner. The proposal for the same had been passed in September/ October of 1976 under the guidance of Comrade Bhaskarrao Auti and college started in 1977.
– 1985 became an MLA and through this opportunity expanded in his educational social and political work throughout Parner Taluka. He took initiative in receiving huge funds from government both for Ahmednagar Zilhla Maratha Vidya Prasarak Samaj and Rayat Shikshan Sanstha, Sanctioned proposals for educational projects.
– He played major role in making available in infrastructure for Mulikadevi Mahavidyalaya at Nighose and Takli Dhokeshwar college, Takli Dhokeshwar. The establishment of three senior colleges in a draught affected Parner Taluka resulted into increasing percentage of higher education amon people from economically weaker sections.
